Empty Legs & Shared Flights
Victoria & Vancouver
Empty legs are one-way flights already scheduled to fly without passengers, many of them flying to or from Vancouver and Victoria. Shared flights are open seats on a booked flight with other passengers. If your plans are flexible, they’re a way to fly private on routes already scheduled. Because empty legs are part of another flight’s itinerary, they may change or be cancelled if the original trip changes.

How empty legs and shared flights work
Empty legs and shared flights are two ways to fly with us without arranging a dedicated charter.
An empty leg is a flight one of our aircraft already needs to make, often back to Victoria or Vancouver after a trip, with no one on board. We open it to clients travelling that route and date, and the whole cabin is yours.
A shared flight is a planned trip where you book seats rather than the whole aircraft, and travel alongside other passengers. You still depart from a private terminal, skip the check-in lines and connections of a commercial flight, and arrive with the comfort and care of a VIH flight.
Where they fly from Victoria or Vancouver
Most of our empty legs and shared flights connect Victoria or Vancouver with the places our clients fly to most: Palm Springs and Southern California, Kelowna, Kona and Maui, and Toronto and Montreal. Our Challenger 604 is based in Victoria and positioned through Vancouver, so many flights begin or end in one of the two cities. If an empty leg doesn’t match your dates, a private jet charter from Victoria or Vancouver flies on your schedule instead.
Good to know before you book
What is the difference between the two? An empty leg gives you the whole aircraft on a set route and date. A shared flight gives you a seat on a planned trip, with other passengers on board.
What if the schedule changes? An empty leg follows the trip it belongs to, so it can move or be cancelled if that trip changes. We will let you know as soon as we do.
